The Legend of The Christmas Messenger
Legend says that every Christmas the Angel, who appeared to the
shepherds grazing their sheep near Bethlehem, returns to earth.
He comes to listen to those carols echoing his ages-old message
of the birth of the Christ child.
Thus the scene is set for the repeat presentation of
“The Legend of The Christmas Messenger,” a half-hour
special appealing to all the family.
A young boy remembers the previous Christmas Eve when,
unintentionally, he disturbs a stranger listening to the carol
singers in the street. The stranger, it seemed, has been
waiting for the boy and together they follow the singing
children through the village.
During this evening, the carols took on far more meaning
for the boy than they ever had before. When the time came
to part he almost missed the stranger’s true identity.
This special, which combines live action and animated sequences,
includes five Yuletide carols: “The Kings Of The Orient,”
“I Saw Three Ships,” “the Band Of Children,” “Deck The Halls”
and “Good King Wenceslas.”
